This perspective considers empathy, relationships, and well-being and emphasizes the moral responsibility of educators to act with compassion towards the realities of their student's experiences, and their own (Noddings, 2018). It frames the relationality of the work of inclusion. Relevant policy that emphasizes the importance of this paradigm include:
UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) ia an international treaty that recognizes the political, economic, social, and cultural rights of children and emphasized the importance of social inclusion
United Nations’ Declaration on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006) recognizes that many barriers encountered by people with disabilities are entirely socially constructed, therefore overcoming them should also be a shared responsibility.
