I am a classroom teacher at a semi-rural dual language elementary school in BC. My personal and professional contexts include much privilege: I am a white, financially stable, educated, cis-gender female with the rights and protections of Canadian citizenship. 

I am also the neurodivergent and physically-limited parent of two neurodiverse children in FI. I am told that my youngest child is the first minimally-speaking child that our district ever enrolled in FI. 

I am deeply committed to community, the equalizing power of public education, and the democratization of knowledge. 

The creation of Belonging in Immersion was supported by the use of artificial intelligence tools, including ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Google Gemini, to assist with content structuring and clarity. All final decisions and edits were made by this human.
